About the Studio
The studio was founded in 2013 by Avital Karner Rotenberg, an industrial designer and graduate of the Holon Institute of Technology, holding a B. Design degree.
Reusing industrial Corian
Every product passes through the designer's hands
100% environmental responsibility
24-karat gold, silver and wood
Corian is a durable, non-degradable material made of acrylic polymer combined with alumina hydrate, used in large industrial plants for about 30 years. It is mainly used to coat work surfaces in kitchens and bathrooms, and even exterior walls of buildings. At the end of its use, Corian is sent to landfill and from that moment on pollutes the environment.
AV DESIGN Studio set itself the goal of reusing Corian, and harnessing its wonderful properties to produce luxury home products — products with added value, far beyond their impressive exterior. The studio's products prove that recycling does not require any compromise on quality! The products combine recycled Corian, wood, 24-karat gold-plated brass and silver. All are handmade, and each one emphasizes contemporaneity, uniqueness, elegance, luxury, and of course — 100% eco-friendly.
Rotenberg founded the studio in the landscape of her childhood — in Moshav Regba. "As a child of a father who worked in Regba's kitchens, I was exposed to Corian at a young age," she says. "I remember my father researching and learning the material, and apparently that's when my connection to Corian was formed." During her academic studies, Rotenberg researched the intriguing material in depth, and upon completing her studies decided to realize her dream and establish a business that recycles Corian without compromising its quality.
The studio also houses a gallery store open to the general public.
